Hello Bedford Parents,

Welcome to the 2018 season! Please read the entirety of this article, as it contains a significant amount of information about the upcoming season.

Registration Process

BYFA spent the last two months working with the State to simplify the registration process to just one system. Unfortunately, it could not be done with a reasonable amount of time and work. Therefore, as in prior years, we need to ask parents to register their athletes on both the www.bedfordbulldogs.org site and the www.NHYFSC.com site.  Full instructions on the registration process can be found here: http://www.bedfordbulldogs.org/reg

We have made several forms digital (Code of Conduct, Athlete Commitment), but there are still several forms that are required to be printed and signed for registration. Those forms can be found on our registration page: http://www.bedfordbulldogs.org/reg

We apologize for the complexity of this process and are committed to working with the state next offseason to improve this process.

Registration & Paperwork Turn In Night

Please join us on April 10th from 6:30-8:30 at the Mckelvie Cafeteria for registration and paper turn in night.  This will be a great opportunity to meet the board members and head coaches to ask questions about the 2018 season.  The earlier people register, the easier it is for us to make sure we have enough equipment and uniform sizes for everyone. Please do your best to register online prior to the event.

Changes to the registration process for this year

  • Payments are now being processed on our website vs. the NHYFSC site which is a change from last year.
  • Full payment is now required at the time of registration. BYFA will not turn an athlete away due to financial hardship.  If you would like to request financial assistance, please fill out our Confidential Financial Assistance Form.  All requests are kept confidential.
  • We are asking all athletes, coaches, student demonstrators, and peer partners to register on our website. This allows us to better roster all participants and team staff, assign team page permissions, and setup team communication on the site.
  • We're also collecting shirt sizes during the registration process, which will be used for this year's camp shirt order.

8U Tackle and 8yo Flag Football

JHL or AYF?

As in prior years, football players who are 12 years old have a choice of where to play this season, either 12U AYF or JHL. We have assembled a comparison of the two programs, and invite you to attend our Registration Night on April 10th at McKelvie School should you require further clarification.

The comparison can be found here:  https://www.bedfordbulldogs.org/page/show/3263496-ayf-or-jhl-

JHL Registration can be found here: https://leagueathletics.com/Registration/Default.asp?n=46236&org=JUNIORBULLDOGS-JHL.ORG

Bulldog Athlete Commitment

Please Read Carefully:

Cheerleading and football are physically demanding sports that will require a significant commitment to practices and competitions/games from late July through early November.  Due to the physical nature of these sports we ask that you assess whether your child is ready for this commitment.  Football is a contact sport and does require an athlete to be comfortable with the contact for not just their own safety but for the safety of the other members on the field.  Please be confident that your child is ready for this type of physical contact.  Cheerleading and football require a full commitment from both the student athlete and their family.

These are TEAM SPORTS, each and every team member is vitally important to their team. It is expected that you will attend each and every practice, game and competition. Unexpected situations may occur, such as illness, which is understandable. What is not acceptable is when a team member (or their parent) decides that it is NOT important to attend a practice, game or cheer competition. A child not attending practices places that child at a disadvantage for learning new skills, keeping up with the rest of the team and could put other team members at a safety risk.   For example, if just one athlete is missing from a cheer practice the coaches can not run a full practice.

While we encourage and welcome multi-sport athletes, it is expected that during the football and cheer season, the Bulldogs are your first priority should conflicts arise.

We'll see everyone on April 10th! Go Bulldogs!
